Posted Slack app on Product Hunt ๐Ÿฑ

Posted our Slack app on Product Hunt (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/share-crypto-on-slack-by-quidli)

After 24 hrs, we managed only ~22 upvotes, which is significantly less than the 100+ our web app got.

Still, on a good note, we got 4 workspace installations so far with one being a sizable 600+ members!

Updated app's FAQ/User Guide

Hadn't touched this thing in months... Then had a user contact me the other day saying he'd been following our guide but was unable to get a feature to work ๐Ÿ˜…

Needless to say, spent the day updating the entire document!

Patched up server timeout issues in Slack app

TIL Slack time-out standards are really tight - seems like close to 3 seconds... ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Pushed new integration - Dogecoin ๐Ÿถ

It's probably been the most requested "feature" for the past two months largely because of Elon Musk...

Initially ignored it but then figured why not and the timing would be great for April 1st... and sure enough it's now in active use ๐Ÿคท

Embedded user survey into web app to try and gain more insight ๐Ÿ”Œ

Only learned yesterday that you can embed Typeform into your pages. I'd been meaning to add user feedback into our web app so took the occasion to put together a TF quick survey and added it as a side tab that users can open and complete.

It doesn't look as nice as I'd thought, but will give it some time to see if users respond, fill it out.

Updated Slack app bot ๐Ÿค–

The bot for our Slack app wasn't being utilized so we're attempting to add more stickiness to the product by having it now post messages that provide updates and product tips for users.

There is some ongoing internal debate on whether this is too intrusive or not so we're keeping it a bit low-key for the moment - just updates when commands are executed at the moment; but considering adding weekly usage summaries to be automatically posted in a public channel, for example.

Any thoughts? Would you mind if one of your Slack app's bots occasionally DM'd you?
Andy Hartnett

I think it depends on how often the Slack bot DM'd, and the quality of the Dm. Weekly summary is probably a decent cadence.

Yea, will aim for weekly and see what users think (hopefully not negative ๐Ÿ˜‚)

First demo call with a potential client company that has >100 employees (our target end users) ๐Ÿคž

Not holding my breath as I know bigger companies take time; but just pumped that the head of finance at a 100+ person company was interested in checking out our new Slack solution ๐Ÿ’ช

Finished preparing March newsletter ๐Ÿ“ฐ

We've got ~500 users today and I try to keep them informed on our product updates and provide little user tips with a monthly newsletter to send out next week. Avg. open rate is ~20% but from there the clicks are terrible <5%.

What are general thoughts on newsletters for early stage products - is monthly too frequent at this stage? Or maybe it should be even more frequent? ๐Ÿค”

Monthly is an excellent cadence. Keep it up.

(Hopefully) finished our company books for 2020 ๐Ÿงฎ

It's never a pleasure but always a relief to get done ๐Ÿ˜‚

Added my product to Makerlog

Been meaning to join this community for a couple months now. Finally started an account yesterday and then added my product page today (always takes more time to think about how to fill these things out than I care to admit ๐Ÿ˜…).

Launched first Slack version of our app

Released a closed beta to early users and friends - have been testing & debugging for almost two weeks ๐Ÿ›
