Feature Friday!

The rumour is true, it's Friday, so that means Feature Friday!!

Share a different feature in your product. Drop a bit of describing the feature and a link.

It doesn't have to be a feature you built this week, it could be a feature you built a month, a year ago. Building in public isn't just about what you do now but also what you have been doing.

So I'll drop a feature in first, and this one is a double feature, I launched a new landing page for another idea of mine, commented it's commenting on blogs, I already use it on my own blog and decided to have a "coming soon in 2020" was probably a bit outdated.

So I gave it a new lick of paint and then added the waitlist, and that's the feature today (see what I did there)

In audience you can create a waitlist, copy the code to create the form and just paste it onto your site, page, where ever.

When someone subscribes, Audience will use your email provider to send the verification, double opt-in is standard on Audience.

I've used that feature to create waitlists, and to add a subscribe option on my blogs as well.

A feature in Polypane I get a lot of mileage from is the horizontal overflow detection.

Polypane tells you when there is a horizontal scrollbar on your web page by showing an icon:

horizontal overflow warning

And then when you click on that icon, it'll highlight in red the element(s) that are causing that overflow, so you don't have to hunt for them:

horizontal overflow element highlighted

So instead of opening your developer tools and manually deleting elements one by one until the horizontal overflow goes away, the element you need to fix is just shown and you can immediately figure out how to fix it. It saves a ton of time!
